This summer, sometime soon I’m going to put together a den, or fort, or hide-away for my boys. What-ever you call it, I’m going to do it! It’s going to be big. BIG and AWESOME! I’m guessing it will be in their room-which is already sort of a small space-nice and cozy so it should work out splendidly. Here are a few examples I’m using for inspiration…
Since they are boys, I’ll have to work very hard to not make it frilly as I won’t be building a princess’ castle in the sky- but a secret pirate or ninja cove.
It’s going to be awesome.
They’re not going to forget it.
At least I hope they wont.
When you’re a kid, dens made out of sheets and blankets are magical. They, by their simple juxtaposition turn simple every day objects into enchanted things. Where what can happen within their soft walls is only limited to the boundaries of one’s imagination.
My imagination is pretty far out there. My kids’ imaginations are, I am happy to say wild, and crazy, and unexpected.
I just may have more fun than they do.
